Kodaikanal Lake |
|
When
the early morning dew settles on the leaves, the wind mingles with the
mountain mist, the ripples in the backwaters dances to the sunshine. When
time seem suspended in tender moments with your beloved and everything is
magic, you know you have arrived at the right place.
Cockers Walk, Kodaikanal I have been to Kodai at least four times and have never been satisfied viewing its beauty. I long to be there again and again. The houses on the hillsides, their colourful gardens, the plum, guava trees, the tall woods and waterfalls have attracted me repeatedly. The cool air rolls down and makes one feel steeped in the blessed tranquillity of the place. The mist that covers Kodai in its soft embrace enhances its beauty with its cool shimmering presence. One cannot help thinking: this could be paradise.
Boat House, Kodaikanal Lake
Another
attraction of Kodai is the lake. One cannot resist taking a boat ride
there. Sometimes the lake gets completely covered with mist, so that one
cannot see another boat even if it is very near. It feels like boating in
a hanging lake. The water is crystal clear and without any weeds.
The boat-club
is situated very close to the main town and to sit there and watch the
boats in the lake throughout the day can be a very relaxing and pleasant
way of spending your time. Gardens, hotels, shopping malls, etc. surround
the lake. |
